An annuity might seem simple to some and overwhelmingly complex to another.  There are variable annuities, fixed annuities, immediate annuities and fixed index annuities that are also sometimes called equity index annuities.  Wow – so many terms.  Many advisors use one word – annuity, and never clarify just what they mean.

Often these one word advisors are speaking of the various issues with variable annuities.  Yes, variable annuities can have a multitude of issues, especially when sold for the wrong reason – namely, the agents financial gain.
